Block, paving, curb machines

There is two type of machines for producing concrete kerbstone, cement block, concrete paver:

A. Stationary machines (production line)       B. Mobile machines

Frist, we describe paver block, concrete curb, cement block production lines, including their essential and optional machine in manufacturing process

production lines can be designed in three lines:

1- Semi-automatic production line

This production line consists of essential machines beside the main machine

2- Automatic production line

This production line has all of the machines beside the main machine

3- Full automatic production line

This production line has all of the machines beside main machine+ PLC system to make a smart line.

Tarahan has all the necessary experience for the fully automatic production of high-quality light or heavyweight concrete blocks in high capacities. A distinct advantage for our customers is that large turn-key plants or single standard components are all from one supplier.

It is a long way from mixing the raw materials to the finished block. Many components of the plant are involved in this process. A plant will run efficiently when each part of the plant has been matched to the other parts containing optimized processes within those parts. Forward-looking planning often referred to as “begin with the end in mind” is a fundamental requirement for a complete efficient production facility. Capacities and machine designs are defined; processes and flows are arranged in space.

This requires focusing on the customer‘s requirements and the available space. The concrete block making plants made by Tarahan are generally structured as follows: The different required materials go from the aggregate silos via transport systems to the dosing and mixing plant (batching plant). It produces high-quality concrete which is designed to meet the individual customer demands and is adapted to the available raw materials. Depending on the plant design, the concrete is then conveyed to the block making machine.

This then compacts the concrete in a mold using a combination of pressure and vibration. The fresh concrete products go then to product pallets via a conveying system, then pass through an optional quality assurance system, onto the curing chamber. After the curing process, the products are combined to form a pack of blocks using a collector robot and are prepared for unloading (e.g. by forklift). The used production pallets are returned to the block making machine. Secondary processing systems for products with different surfaces are available from Tarahan. Tarahan control and safety systems ensure safe fast production with minimum downtime.

Batching plant is a dosing system for raw materials (water, sand, cement,…).

Batching plant itself consists of

- Feeder

- Conveyors

- Cement screw

2. Concrete mixer

The number of concrete mixers depends on production lines and especially the block machine (single color, two colors)

Block, curb, paver concrete must be dry so their mixers are differently than ready-mix plant’s mixers, and there are two type of mixers for this issue: - vertical mixer   - horizontal mixer

Horizontal concrete mixers are better than verticals because they have 3D mixing system.


3. Concrete transport

There are two ways to transport concrete from mixer to paver machine: 

 3a. Conveyor system    3b. bucket system.


4. Concrete paver block machines

Stationary Paver block machines are made of two main type:    

4a. single storage for producing single color products

Other differences are:

- Brand of used equipment

- Pressing pressure

- Machine speed

- Type of design

- User’s system

- Pallet size


5. Handling system

After exiting the block from paver block machine there can be:

5a. Semi-automatic lines have a lifting robot (pic 5a) which normally used in semi-automatic lines, this robot can lift 5to 10 pallets above each other, and then a forklift comes and carries them.

5b. Automatic lines instead of lifting robot, there is an elevator which can lift 10 to 40 pallet, then a finger cart (pic 5b) comes and carry products into the curing then after blocks cured finger cart comes and carry products to a lowerator, lowerator puts the pallet + products on a chain conveyor.

Then there is a collector robot (pic 5c) which collects the concrete blocks from pallets and put them on another chain conveyor which goes to packaging stage.

B. Mobile Machines

Mobile block machines have been upgraded from the manual system to hydraulic so there is two type of mobile hydraulic block machines:
